Theme: Tech for the Ummah
Why
We are one Ummah, one body. If one part is in pain, the whole body responds. As the Ummah continues to face global challenges—especially humanitarian crises in several parts of the world—it's time we direct our skills to meaningful action.
What
We aim to:
Create practical, deployable solutions that can make an immediate difference
Build connections between the tech community and grassroot organizations
Develop open-source tools that can be adapted and scaled by others
Raise awareness about specific technological gaps
The problems we'll focus on solving are :
Authentic News & Information DisseminationCombat misinformation by ensuring the timely spread of verified, trusted, and context-aware news. Enable secure communication channels for affected communities and responders.
Civilian Safety & Emergency AlertsDesign tools for personal safety, evacuation support, local alerts, and conflict-area navigation. Ensure civilians can access critical info even with limited connectivity.
Humanitarian Aid Coordination Streamlines the delivery of food, shelter, medical care, and essentials. Improve logistics for NGOs, governments, and grassroots efforts through real-time data and task coordination.
Infrastructure & Connectivity ResilienceProvide low-bandwidth or offline solutions for communication and data access. Support tools for rebuilding or working around damaged infrastructure (e.g. mesh networks, solar-powered systems).
Healthcare & Mental Health SupportSupport crisis-related medical triage, resource availability mapping, and telemedicine. Include tools for trauma care, mental health check-ins, and frontline support.
Support for Displaced PopulationsOffer solutions for refugee registration, camp coordination, access to services, and reconnecting families. Assist in language support, legal aid, and education continuity.
